The Center for Evaluation at USJ was established in 2016 by the Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura Sri Lanka with technical and financial support from UNICEF Sri Lanka. It is the first professional institute in South Asia and among the few places in Asia which aims to join the efforts of governments and other partners to develop a strong evaluation culture. The center offers a range of service including; Capacity Building through training and knowledge sharing; Conducting join evaluation program with state and private sector to improve evaluation skills; Enhancing the public awareness on uses and importance of evaluation; and Developing and promoting evaluation standards, ethics and guidelines. Center is under able leadership of Dr. Asela Kalugampitiya. In the dynamic landscape of academic pursuits, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura’s Center for Evaluation stands as a beacon of excellence, dedicating its efforts to the advancement of evaluation agenda. Established with a vision to contribute significantly to the field of evaluation, CFE has evolved into a multifaceted institution that plays a pivotal role in research, education, and the practical application of evaluation principles. Over the years, the center has steadily grown, fueled by a commitment to excellence and a belief in the transformative power of evaluation in various sectors.
